Scripture – “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.”
Mark 5:18-20 NIV
Observation – Jesus healed a man that was possessed by a demon. The man wanted to be with Jesus and asked if he could go with him but Jesus told him to go home and tell everyone he knew how much Jesus had done for him and how he had mercy on him. The man did what Jesus asked and when people heard they were amazed.
Application – If you have been changed by Jesus, if you are a new creation in Christ this is your privilege and responsibility, to tell others how much Jesus has done for you and how he has had mercy on you. You don’t need to be well versed in scripture, you just need to tell others what God has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.
Prayer – Lord, I pray that all of your followers would be faithful in telling others how you changed their lives. Amen.
