Scripture – “If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”
2 Corinthians 5:13-15 NIV
Observation – A lot of people who haven’t received Jesus as their Savior think that real Christians are out of their mind. It appears that way because Christ’s love compels us, we know that Jesus died for us and for those who haven’t received jim and we want people who don’t know him yet to receive eternal life because Jesus died for them and was raised again. The alternative is separation from God in hell. Because the consequences are eternal sometimes Christians, in their zeal and fervor to see people saved, seem to be out of their minds.
Application – As Christians we should no longer live for ourselves but for Jesus and we should have lot of friends that don’t know Jesus, not only to share the gospel with them but because it is fun to have lots of friends, people are interesting and it is great to spend time with them. Now from time to time they may think we are out of minds because of how we live and our allegiance to Jesus but we can still love them and they can still love us.
Prayer – Lord, thank you that you died for all and were raised again so we get to be with you forever. Help us to live in such a way that even if people think we are out of our minds they find you attractive. Amen.
