Scripture – ““Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭26‬:‭15‬-‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – Jesus spoke to Saul on the way to Damascus and told him his new job. “I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’”

Application – This is part of every believers “new job” as a follow of Jesus. As we know, from our own experience and reading about Paul’s interactions with people, some will reject the message, others will consider it and a few will joyfully accept it. We don’t know who will accept and who will reject the gift so we share Jesus with the world and watch God work in people’s hearts.

Prayer – Jesus, give each of my brothers and sisters a desire to open people’s eyes and turn them from darkness to light. Amen.
