Scripture – “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”” Matthew‬ ‭9‬:‭35‬-‭38‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – Jesus went through towns and villages and taught in synagogues proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing people. He had compassion on the people because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. He told his disciples that many people were ready to come into the kingdom but they needed to be told about it first and there weren’t many telling others about the good news.

Application – Tell people about Jesus, get into conversations with people so they can discover the one true God and not be harassed and helpless in this world dealing with the fear of death, sickness and disaster. Jesus will never leave us or forsake us.

Prayer – Jesus, give me a heart for the lost. Help me to remember how life was before you so that I am motivated to tell others the truth about you and the hope you bring. Amen.
